Since the #ThrowbackThursday hash tag is so popular, I’m releasing the official lyric video to my song “The Land, the Sea, and the Sky” from my 2012 album, “The Crossing” today! This follows my first ever official lyric video for my recently released single, “As I Lay Me Down Deux.”
Why choose that particular throwback song for my second lyric video? On April 22, I’ll be performing at the inaugural “Live Climate” Earth Concert at Town Hall in New York City as we commemorate the 50th Anniversary of Earth Day. As you know, environmental activism has always been at the core of my life and art.
The theme for Earth Day 2020 is climate action. The enormous challenge — but also the vast opportunities — of action on climate change have distinguished the issue as the most pressing topic for the 50th anniversary, our times, and perhaps the future of humanity. I feel a debt of love and gratitude to our planet and all the creatures kept alive by her. In the same way my son says ‘thank you for giving me my life’ I feel our planet deserves our deepest regard, care, and trust.
A portion of total proceeds from these Live Climate concerts will benefit the local New York charity, RIVERKEEPERS.
Come spend Earth Day with me – ticket information is available on my website at www.sophiebhawkins.com/tour.
What an amazing song! And such a perfect choice for your upcoming performance!
