Musings From Sophie

Mother’s Day

Hello friends…

I hope you are all well and doing okay during these unprecedented times. As we all get accustomed to this new normal, I wanted to let you know I’m still working and creating.

We’ve just posted some new Midwest tour dates for October on my website. Ticket links will go live as the venues begin selling tickets. Keep in mind that as this pandemic continues to play out, things may change, but for now this is something we can all look forward to. Coming back together, although perhaps socially distanced, for an evening of live music. With things being so uncertain we haven’t booked a lot of other shows yet, but check out my tour page for dates and locations: www.sophiebhawkins.com/tour.

Mother’s Day is this Sunday. It will look much different than past Mother’s Days for most of us. As we all go ‘virtual’ while maintaining social distance to keep each other healthy and safe, I’m going to record a limited number of one-minute (give or take a few seconds) video greetings personalized to the special mom in your life with a brief message from you to them by me — and I’ll even sing a bit of my song “Only Love” for them as well! These will be similar to the videos I recorded for folks this past Valentine’s Day. You can check out one of those videos as an example on my YouTube channel.

We’ll send you a downloadable video link in time for Mother’s Day – and we may even share your video on my social media pages on the 10th!

I’m doing these as a way to give back. This week is National Nurse’s Week. The coronavirus pandemic has reminded us just how critical our healthcare heroes’ work is to our everyday health and safety. With your order of this personalized video, I’ll donate all proceeds to the New York Presbyterian Hospital and Columbia University Medical Center coronavirus funds – one is a patient care fund that will support the purchase of personal protective equipment and ventilators and the other provides for the physical and mental well-being of our healthcare workers.

Together, let’s bring a little light to these healthcare heroes. Order no later than 11:59 p.m. on Thursday May 7, 2020.

Keep yourselves and others safe…
